What happens when I introduce ‘think-pair-share’ to the learning environment?

Rationale

This research study investigates the use of the think-pair-share cooperative learning technique and its effects on gathering information on students’ confidence on self-assessment within the learning environment. This study was chosen as cooperative learning is viewed as an effective form of communication which increases understanding (Gillies, 2003). As a result of this the ‘think-pair-share’ strategy was chosen to increase participation and understanding within the learning environment.

Aims

The aim of this study is to discover how effective think-pair-share is on the engagement of all children in assessing their own learning.
