Mindful Pausing in the Classroom (Group 2F)
Rationale
Mindful pausing is best defined by Voller (2009) as “Purposeful focusing on thoughts, feelings, sensations and behaviour in order to make meaning from those fragments of experience” he continues “The outcome of this reflection is to create new understanding which in turn may lead to: Increasing choices, making changes or reducing confusion”. It consists of a 3-stage process which requires preparation, application, and transferral of knowledge (Carroll, 2009).
Aims
The aims of this enquiry of practice were to investigate whether utilising mindful pausing in the classroom can have an impact on focus, health and well-being and behaviour.
