What happens when exit passes are used in the classroom?

Rationale

Self-assessment was identified as a significant area of interest to all group members as this is an important feature in all classrooms. As a teacher I believe self-assessment is an aspect of classroom practice that benefits both teachers and learners. This is supported by Black and William (1998), who state that in order for teachers to adequately support learners, the learners have to take responsibility for part of their own learning, including highlighting to teachers how they are coping with their work and where they are finding difficulties.

Aims

The aim of this enquiry was to explore what effect exit passes had on teaching and learning within the classroom.
