What happens when I use the 2 stars and a wish technique in the classroom?

For a decade, Scottish schools and teachers have embarked on a national initiative of formal assessment where learners were assessed by teachers and by themselves and their peers, providing vital feedback capable of modifying and improving the teaching and learning activities in which all were engaged (Black and William 2001, p.2). Schools put improvement plans into operation, while probationer teachers, eager to improve their research and teaching competence as well as their academic prospects, were encouraged to investigate and incorporate a variety of teaching methods and techniques with a view to improving performance and gaining valuable experience.
