What happens when I introduce Think-Pair-Share in my classroom?

Rationale

The aim of the enquiry was to introduce the concept of Think-Pair-Share into the learning and teaching within the classroom and observe any benefits. Think-Pair- Share is a co-operative learning technique which involves presenting pupils with a task or question and giving them time to think individually (Sampsel, 2013).

Aims

The purpose of this enquiry was to:

  • Introduce and use Think-Pair-Share within the classroom setting and summarise the impact this had on teaching and learning
  • Develop confidence in answering and thinking by assigning designated partners
  • Present using Think-Pair-Share across the curriculum and its effect on pupil experiences.
