Part of the Standards for Full Registration is to have knowledge and understanding of the importance of research and engagement in professional enquiry. As a group, we had hoped to meet this standard whilst also having the opportunity to explore a fundamental aspect of modern teaching and learning; formative assessment. By using two stars and a wish as a means of peer assessment, pupils were given the opportunity to engage with their peers and evaluate their progress. As stated in Building the Curriculum 5, (Scottish Government, 2010) children ‘do well when engaging fully in their learning… and reviewing their progress.’
The aim of this enquiry was to find out what happened when pupils used two stars and a wish as a form of peer assessment.
